SeromYx Systems was founded in July 2019, with operations starting in December 2019. We are a biotechnology service company that provides clients and partners with unprecedented insight into the functional antibody response using the Systems Serology platform developed at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard. This comprehensive suite of high-throughput biophysical and antibody effector function profiling assays is coupled with machine-learning analytics and can be used to diagnose disease state; discover correlates of disease outcome; develop vaccines, immunotherapies, antibodies, and drugs; define surrogate regulatory endpoints; and design Phase IV and product improvement pathways. Rapid growth has resulted in the need to expand our scientific team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SeromYx is seeking a talented, experienced, and motivated individual to join our growing team as a Research Technician. The desire to learn and understand immunological techniques and biophysical and functional antibody characterization is essential for this position. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to various client and research projects and responsible for executing laboratory experiments, analyzing and reporting results, and working within a larger team on a regular basis. Applicants should be team players able to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position reports to a lead client-facing Scientist.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform biophysical and antibody effector function profiling assays as part of our Systems Serology platform.
  • Support assay standardization / development and qualification activities for novel systems serology offerings.
  • Manage lab reagent inventory and preparation of custom reagents.
  • Assist in the generation, implementation, and review of standard operating procedures and technical reports, as needed.
  • Maintain reliable and accurate record-keeping following good documentation practices.
  • Support compliance with relevant GXP requirements and quality standards
  • General maintenance and monitoring of all laboratory equipment.
  • Contribute to client interactions, including writing or editing client reports and analyses

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in biological sciences with 1+ years of experience in academic or pharmaceutical industry settings.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture (primary cells and cell lines) is required.
  • Independently motivated, detail oriented, and good problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, work effectively as part of a team, and show initiative.
  • Strong understanding of flow cytometry, Luminex, ELISA, and similar techniques is preferred.
  • Hands on experience with cell-based assay development is highly desirable.
  • Experience working under a quality system (e.g., GCLP or CLIA) is a plus.
